I can offer a wide range of services that can benefit your company. At American Engineering Testing, I was responsible for conducting lab and field tests, along with being able to make and maintain client relationships through immense communication. Lab tests varied from being able to do: proctors, gradations, Atterburg limits, Los Angeles Rattlers, Shale floats, breaking cylinders, and permeability boards. Field tests consisted of: Nuclear density tests, concrete testing, rebar checks, and grout block/cube testing.
Skills
Self-motivated
First and foremost, I am very self- motivated: I have always been a self-starter ever since I was a kid. I didn’t need the extra motivation to get out of bed for an early morning workout or to do the extra studying required to do well on a tough exam. I translated this to my work environment last summer at AET by working on a windfarm in Iowa. I was getting up at Five AM and not back until 11 PM some nights. I have the self drive to stay motivated and work hard through the good and bad times.
Leadership
I have always had a niche for leading people. I was a captain of my state championship team in highschool. I had the ability to coordinate between the defensive backs and defensive tackles to keep everyone on the same page to make sure the task at hand gets done. Being able to communicate effectively among people has been the key through this. I can translate this into the work environment by having a strong sense of communication among my clients and coworkers. I could also take more of a leadership role at work being able to manage the time spent at work in a beneficial way to meet clients deadlines.
Creatively Persistent
Being able to endure in the face of adversity is everything. You need a relenting effort to achieve greatness despite coming face to face with roadblocks. No matter what is going on, I always try to stay optimistic and positive through tough times. This is important because you hear the saying “attitude is everything”, I truly believe it is. If you have a positive mindset and are constantly encouraging the people around you, you have the ability to raise everybody up.
